Today me and Andon spent the day in Jönköping with Jonas Mom, Ingvor. Its´s the closest "big" city to my parents house. I think it´s the home to around 110 000 people. Well I just googled it and actually it´s 120 000 people in the whole county and about 50000 in the city. And this is Swedish 9th biggest city.

Jonas mom doesn´t live in Jönköpings County anymore. She moved away to a small small place out in nowhere ;) so we were both Tourist in Jönköping for the day. I Myself havn´t been living in Jönköping since I was 18 or something like that.


We walked around the two shopping streets and Ingvor bought Andon some clothes and toys. Above you can see a picture of the old City Hall built in the beginning of 17th century.
Over the doorway there is a sign that say "Swedish Church, Jönköping". Why I don´t know but it is a very typical thing for Jönköping that is also known under the name "Little Jerusalem". A big part of the population in the area is religious and there is a lot of churches around


Andon´s new chewable book features BAMSE, the world´s strongest and kindest bear. When he eats grandma´s magic honey he brcomes the strongest bear in the world. His best friend is a scared little rabbit and a very smart turtle with a" food and sleep"-clock that help him keep his routines. The turtle is a scepticer and he only belives in facts and he´s a great inventor.
This is a very moralizing story. Bamse and his friends teach swedish children about animals, friendship, bullying, foreign cultures, racism, firesafety and everything else a child "should" know about.
Besides books and movies Bamse has his own magasin with a new issue every month. He first appeard in 1966 so he´s beginning to be old now. Since I was little, Bamse got married and now have four children. So the story develops as time go by. And now Andon got his first Bamse book. Actually it´s the second, he got one when we had the namegiving cermonie.

Jönköping is built on the beach of a big deep cold lake. Down by the pier there is a new area with some restaurants. We had our lunch there but since it was lunch time we could only get a table in the back close to the kitchen. We had boiled potatoes with fish, shrimps, crayfish and some vegtables and a little sause (to little). A quite common thing to eat in Sweden. After lunch we got some sunshine (and a lot of wind) while walking along the shore.

On the way back we went past the new City Hall, the park next to it you can see on the pictures below.



We had some icecream by the canal and then we walked thru the center again on the way back to the parking lot.



Jonas, today we had some Swedish style cheesecake with whipped cream and raspberry jam. It was so good..... But dont be jelous this evening me and my Mom went shopping for some things for you in the food market.
